City Civic Award to our Margaret Millar

Our Margaret is very driven in what she does, dotting all her i’s and crossing all her t’s.

Margaret is one of the founding members of the Band’s Supporters Club, which started back in the early 1980s. She has held the role of Secretary since then, and also acted as Treasurer for a number of years.

Margaret has also been heavily involved in her local Church, starting in her early years as a Sunday School teacher, then becoming the Church’s Organist. Margaret also ran the Church’s Tuesday food stall making jams, pickles and all sorts of baked goods. For many years Margaret has assisted in running the Evening Women’s Fellowship group, which she is also the Secretary of.

Margaret has been a pillar in many community groups over the years, and her ‘get on and do it’ attitude is very rare these days. She is an inspiration to us all, and this Award is very well deserved.
